Doing Business in South Sudan

The World Bank has published its global Doing Business ranking for 2017 and its report on South Sudan. This annual survey is based on the following ten factors: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and resolving insolvency. It then provides an overall score for these factors.

Out of 190 economies surveyed for 2017, South Sudan scored number 186, an improvement of one place over 2016. This compares with a score of 168 for Sudan and 190 for Somalia.
