Doing Business in Kenya

The World Bank has published its global Doing Business ranking for 2017 and its report on Kenya. This annual survey is based on the following ten factors: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and resolving insolvency. It then provides an overall score for these factors.

Out of 190 economies surveyed for 2017, Kenya scored number 92 on the overall ease of doing business, an impressive 21 place improvement over its score in 2016. This compares with a score of 74 for South Africa and 115 for Uganda.
